Why
The California Academy of Sciences, located in San Francisco, CA in Golden Gate Park, launched the Golden Gate Park Field Guide iPhone app to extend the reach of our museum as well as inspire people to explore their surroundings. It is a perfect fit with our mission to explore, explain and protect the natural world.
The app highlights the park’s common wildlife, popular attractions, and hidden gems. It also invites users to actively engage with the park and to record and share their experiences. Key features include an ever-growing field guide to five taxa, a map of attractions, adventures to undertake and species sightings.
