Museums and the Web

An annual conference exploring the social, cultural, design, technological, economic, and organizational issues of culture, science and heritage on-line.

Museums and the Web 2011 (MW2011): Events

MW2011 includes a wide variety of social events providing opportunities to meet – and learn from – professional peers, and to build a personal network.

Pre-conference Tours, Lunch during the pre-conference workshops, an Orientation Session for first time attendees, the Welcome Reception, Exhibitors' Reception, Buffet lunch, Conference Reception, and the Birds of a Feather tables, are all great opportunities for socialising.

There are also formal Sessions and less formal Interactions throughout the conference.

Pre-conference Tours

The day before the Pre-Conference Workshops, local cultural and scientific institutions have teamed to provide behind-the-scenes tours of some of the most interesting new media programs around.

Tours require separate registration; space is limited (you’re going "behind the scenes" and there’s only so much room).

Social Events

Throughout MW2011 there are numerous social events – as well as lots of coffee breaks in the program – to make sure that everyone has a chance to connect with other attendees.
