Workshop: Web Video
Web video gives museums the opportunity to reach Internet users in exciting ways. Compelling, media-rich Web sites or live Webcasts can extend the museum floor and help institutions reach new audiences.
The promise of broadband while perhaps delayed by the slow down in the Internet economy is still on the horizon, providing new ways for museums to reach Web visitors. The purpose of this workshop is to demystify Web video and provide an overview of how it works, how it's created, and how it's used in museum settings.
This workshop will:
Finally, we'll examine the role that Web video plays in the museum world and see how some institutions are using it. A wide-range of examples will be presented. We'll also look at some possible future applications and discuss where Web video is headed with an emphasis on its use in the museum world.
