Why

Museodata is a web portal where information about Museology, Cultural Heritage, Conservation & Restoration is disseminated. All of these services are free-of-charge.

Any institution may send or publish by itself all the information of its services, exhibitions, collections, and latest news.

Museodata has a worldwide list of museums and museum libraries made by our web visitors and volunteers. Also, the United Nations Online Volunteering Program is supporting us with several tasks, including recording information of Museums and Museum Libraries.

REMBIM (Museum Libraries Network) is one of the new services of Museodata. There, Museum Libraries may participate in work groups, and establish Interlibrary Loan, share experiences and resources. In addition, REMBIM has a Union Catalog with bibliographical information related to Museum Libraries subscribed in this Network. As a complement, there is Referential Data Base of Online Documents related to our subjects.

Museodata has a Professional Network where people from any place may subscribe, start discussions, publish a Blog, share ideas, photos and videos. Also, Artists may promote their works and providers of products and services related to Museums may promote them.

Additionally, Museodata has some specialized lists, around our subjects:

  • Recommended links and e-publications
  • Academic Programs, fellowships, grants, etc.
  • Online Museums and Exhibitions

Finally, Museodata disseminate all this information in social networks (facebook, twitter, netlog, etc.)
