Why

Second Story is excited to develop the online interactive experience of the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory for the New York Botanical Garden. The project is intended to encourage plant science for children in an engaging, exciting and exploratory way.

Virtual Conservatory: Each house of the Haupt Conservatory will be represented in the interactive experience. Each house or node will be be an excitingengaging, exciting 3D environment for a young audience to explore. Visitors can listen to a narrated tour or read more information about the habitat.

Plant Explorer: This is the core, central activity that will drive the interactive experience. Plants from each node will be represented. The visitor willbe able to click on various plants in each node, access information about the plant, listen to commentary, and link to supplementary content

Challenges:  Seven activities will allow visitors to test their plant knowledge. From learning to identify different kinds of leaf shapes to understanding how different animals assist in plant pollination, the challenges reinforce the knowledge acrued from discovering each plant.
