Catching up with the Twitter Backchannel

Right after the opening plenary this morning there was a great buzz about our #mw2009 Twitter backchannel. Quite a few people were asking if they'd be able to look at Tweets that popped up during the session later on - so here's how.

There are two big, basic routes: firstly look at the Twitter feed that's down there on the right hand side of this website, under the heading 'MW2009 on the Web'.

The latest Tweets are uppermost in that column: if you'd like to see older Tweets, click the 'more' tab at the base and you'll then see the whole page change into a display of Tweets, with a tab for older content at the bottom.

Second way to access old #mw2009 Tweets: log in to Twitter.com and use the search page to look for #mw2009 tagged content. You'll get a list of Tweets with the newest at the top, updating as you watch.

If you're interested in putting this search on your own website or blog - go for it! This #mw2009 search result can be saved as an RSS feed URL and then entered into any feedreader, widget or a blog. Here's my website with a custom Museums and the Web 2009 Twitter feed on the homepage: http://machineculture.wordpress.com.
