Samuel McIntire: Carving An American Style

Conference:
MW2008
Institution:
Peabody Essex Museum
Designer:
In-house
Why:

For Samuel McIntire: Carving An American Style our intended audience was local historians, architects, designers, students, and culturally inquisitive museum goers interested in American history and antiques. The Interactive Kiosk & Online Presence served as a gateway for users to understand the period and also the scope of McIntire's talents as an architect and carver. By blending these unique talents into one piece served to pay off our interpretive ideas of how to talk about McIntire without separating his skill sets but to make one holistic statement about his life and work. The content of the site was populated entirely by the archives of the Peabody Essex Museum's Phillips Library.
