Museum Victoria’s New Website OverviewLaunched in early November 2007, Museum Victoria’s new website was developed and delivered almost entirely in-house by MV staff.Incorporating the Museum’s new visual identity throughout, the site features consistent navigation across all venues, greatly improved search functionality/discoverability of online resources and a rich overall user experience.BackgroundThe project produced a framework for the ongoing management and growth of our online activities into the future, with three key outcomes:Implementation of a Content Management System (CMS) enabling dynamic delivery of content, along with improved capacity for ongoing management. A redesigned web architecture that:improves searching, discovery and access to content updates information delivery systems aligns with Museum Victoria strategic directions and brand hierarchy improves standards compliance produces a new and refreshed website design.Effective integration of future web development into Museum Victoria activities, by outlining information work flows along with roles and responsibilities of those staff accountable for web content.
