Why:

The newly redesigned InformalScience.org is a growing online community site that strives to support knowledge-sharing, collaboration and the growth of innovation among diverse professionals in the field informal science education. In addition to being a rich information resource, the site seeks to connect research, practice and evaluation work to a living collection of informal learning projects.

From home, users can create member profiles automatically linked to their publications, projects and evaluation reports in the database; access and contribute informal learning research references; share impact and evaluation findings with the community; and create or update project pages to showcase the work and people behind the projects.

The site also features quarterly interviews with leaders in the field, project spotlights and RSS feeds for newly published research, evaluations, calendar events and NSF project funding.
