The Eiteljorg Museum's EM Radio podcast

Conference:
MW2009
Institution:
Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art
Designer:
NuOrbit Media
Why:

I think the Eiteljorg Museum's regular offering is an example of cultural institution podcasting done right, with its compelling variety of artist interviews, storytelling, curator-led tours, symposiums and more. There is something to be found fof the museum's core audience of Native and Western art and culture aficionados (lectures, etc.), plus the cacual visitor (12 Days of Christmas with a Western twist). While popular, it boasts 8,000 subscribers, EM Radio was developed by the museum's marketing team with  minimal budget--less than $1,000 to purchase a digital recorder and microphones. Interview subjects are culled from museum staff and visiting artists and performers.
