Discover the collections of 27 collaborating Dutch museums!

On this site you will find a little over 40.000 objects from 27 museums in the Dutch province of Gelderland. Besides objects currently on show, many objects from the museum depots, not to be seen normally, are presented online. A few thousands objects can be viewed in detail using Zoomify. 

You can discover the objects in several ways:

• visually on the homepage by clicking images representative of the museumcollections available in the database
• using the search field ('zoeken')
• advanced search (www.collectiegelderland.nl/zoeken/)
• browse by museum, category, material and creator (www.collectiegelderland.nl/bladeren/)
• on a Google map of provenances (www.collectiegelderland.nl/kaart/)
• on a timeline (www.collectiegelderland.nl/tijdbalk/)
• through stories ('verhaal') and newsitems ('actueel') about the museums and their collections. Objects are linked to the content and this offers unexpected cross links between museumcollections of the various participants

All of the content can also be found using a search engine like Google.

Collectie Gelderland was started in 2001, then called IGEM (Internet Gelderse Musea). Smaller and large museums from Gelderland can use this website to share their collections online. The audience can respond ('reageer') to objects and share ('deel') them with friends and colleagues, a new feature that has been used well since the release of the website. Specialist and private collectors are offering new information about various objects on a dayly basis.
