Dr. Ofelia Pérez-Peña is a specialist on environmental and social sciences working mostly in action-research projects for environmental education and regional sustainable development. She is a professor in the Department of Environmental Sciences, University of Guadalajara. Her research focus is on environmental education issues related social participation, regional development, life systems, water and food in the area of the watershed Lerma-Chapala-Santiago and natural protected areas. She has been a professor in the masters program of Environmental Education at the University of Guadalajara and has more then 20 publications. She is a member of the Academic Group: Education & Communication for Sustainable Development at the University of Guadalajara and is a member of several local boards.
