Steve brings a powerful blend of subject knowledge, media experience, and technical skills to his work for eduweb, where he has served as producer, writer, art director, and Flash developer for online projects about biology, ecology, culture, and history. Steve gained Old Media experience as a science writer for television, print, and radio, and became a Web producer in 1995 when he was founding Nature and Science Editor of the Discovery Channel Online. With a B.A. in biology from the University of Oregon Clark Honors College and a Ph.D. in Science and Technology Studies from Cornell University, he combines curiosity about the natural world with an appreciation for the nature of the scientific enterprise. Steve is just as at home in museums as he is on the Web, as his dissertation examined the ways natural history museums translate and encode nature into their exhibits.
