As a deaf museum professional with years of experience in museum accessibility issues, she is a strong supporter for "universal design/access" in museum exhibitions and Web sites. As part of her Master's Degree in Museum Studies at Cooperstown Graduate Program, Kristin completed her thesis, "Making Museum Web Sites Accessible for Everyone," covering various aspects of Web site accessibility issues including why museums should consider "universal accessibility" of their Web sites, who people with disabilities are and their difficulties gaining access to information on the Web, and how museums can create and present accessible Web sites. She did a summer fellowship program at the Accessibility Program at the Smithsonian Institution, served on panels at several conferences and local meetings dealing with deaf and hard-of-hearing visitors and museum accessibility issues including a session on Web site accessibility issues at the Association of Midwest Museums annual meeting.

Kristin will teach Principles of Accessible Web Design
