Online Content Plan
At my museum, we have a lot of tools for creating and distributing content online. Also, there is a growing understanding of the need for and value in online content production. But we don't have a formal plan for when, what, how, and why we create that material. I think it would be helpful for guiding our work and for getting senior staff buy-in. Do others have such plans? Care to share examples?

Thank you Patricia,
This is almost identical to the matrix I mentioned for The Children's Museum of Indianapolis. Having seen yours, I feel even more confident that our approach is a useful model.
Hi Angela. It's good to know that we are not lost in this ocean of information. At leat, we are swimming in the right direction. :)
Dear all,
due to your requests, here you have my social media editorial plan. Hope it is useful to you and please let me know what you think or how it can be improved. You can follow me on @lacordero. Regards!

We are in the process of creating a schedule/plan for online content. For us, we've determined it's best to treat content as individual assets and create a schedule for when and where each appear on our various channels (web, social, blog, email, online member community, etc.). Basically we're working on a spreadsheet that lists the content asset, the channel, and the timeframe for when it will appear. This is for the top-level content. We're hoping this will help us get the most mileage out of content we produce. We launched a new Drupal site in February, so overall our more "fixed" web content is all relatively new, but longer term we will conduct content audits (probably twice a year) with the content stakeholders to make sure everything is relevant and fresh.
