14-15 Oct 2010 | Amsterdam

Europeana Open Culture 2010 conference will focus on how museums, libraries, archives and audiovisual collections can create public value by making digital, cultural and scientific information openly available.

Keynote 1: Peace, Love & Metadata: A cultural collaboration with Wikipedia, by Liam Wyatt, the British Museum's first Wikipedian in Residence

Keynote 2: The Present and Future of Google Books, by James Crawford, Engineering Director of Google Books

The Open Culture 2010 conference is open to all cultural institutions, information professionals, application developers and technology researchers to explore the risks and rewards of openness - of code, data and content - and showcase sites and activities that are the best European examples of Open Culture.

The Europeana conference is a free annual event which highlights current challenges for our sector and looks for practical solutions for the future. It connects the main actors in cultural and scientific heritage in order to build networks and establish future collaborations.

Register today and:

  • Benefit from the latest thinking of innovators, experts and academics.
  • Learn about new project achievements, technology developments and trends in the cultural heritage domain.
  • Meet inspirational speakers, key decision makers and fellow project partners.

Entry to the conference is free and open to all. Travelling expenses are covered for one representative from every organisation that is a partner in the Europeana Thematic Network.
