Driven: True Stories of Inspiration

Audio | Visual | Podcast

How are creative investigations sparked? What does a state of inspiration feel like? Can inspiration be transmitted from person to person? In this black-and-white audio slide show series, the Exploratorium explores the fascinating world of how we work creatively, and presents the human stories behind creative accomplishments. Some of the people you'll meet include David Wilson, curator of the Museum of Jurassic Technology in Los Angeles, who welcomes us into his worlds of inspiration; chef Mourad Lahlou, who finds inspiration in simple things and unlikely places; and Megan and Rick Prelinger, who share their unique collection of books and resources with the community. We also introduce some of our own staff, who reveal what inspires and drives their work in exploring the microscopic world, studying the stars, and more.
