Kathi Koontz leads innovative technology teams as a project manager in the California Academy of Sciences' web group. One of her recent projects is a remote webcam installation that enables scientists and the public to monitor the wildlife at the Farallon National Wildlife Refuge, a remote group of islands off the coast of San Francisco. Kathi has a degree in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University and experience in the computer hardware and software industries. She is an active diver and a marine mammal rescuer with the Marine Mammal Center and National Marine Fisheries Service.
