Amy McKune, Director of Museum Collections at the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art, has more than twenty years experience working in the museum field. She earned her A.B. in Anthropology at Kenyon College and M.A. in History Museum Studies from the Cooperstown Graduate Program, State University of New York, College at Oneonta. Prior to coming to the Eiteljorg in 2004, McKune worked as the Curator of History Collections at The Museums at Stony Brook, Curator & Collections Manager at the Washington State Historical Society, and the Registrar & Collections Manager at The Museum of the Rockies. A manager of IMLS and NEH grants, and a panelist and technical specialist for the NEH Preservation grant programs, McKune has completed a wide variety of projects that focus on the proper care of museum collections. Recent projects have focused on improving the management of collection data, and conservation and preservation of the Eiteljorg’s collection.
