The RFP Process: From Request through Proposal

Mini-Workshop: Gain a Skill - 4

What is a Request For Proposal? When is an RFP appropriate and how should the RFP process be used? What does a vendor expect to see in an RFP from an institution? What should an institution expect from a prospective vendor in response to an RFP? What criteria go into the final vendor selection process?

Many institutions have not had the need to use the RFP process but it is highly likely that they will at some point in the future. This min-workshop explores the nuts and bolts of how to manage the RFP process and offers perspective from both the client side and the vendor side. It will give participants an opportunity to share their examples and receive input as well as share anecdotes with the group about previous RFP experiences.

The mini-workshop will be facilitated by Diane Andolsek, former director of online development at Experience Music Project, currently a partner in the convergent design firm WEATHERHEAD Experience Design Group LLC. A list of resources will be supplied as part of the workshop.
