Your Background

Your Biography

I am a PhD Candidate in anthropology at the University of British Columbia, and a 2006 Trudeau Foundation Scholar. I received an MA in the Anthropology of Media from the University of London, SOAS. As assistant editor of the Visual Anthropology Review, I designed its first multimedia CD-ROM edition. My current work with Aboriginal communities in northern British Columbia, Alberta, and the Yukon uses methods of participatory ethnography while facilitating collaborative multimedia and virtual museum exhibit production. My research is grounded in the history and trajectory of museum repatriation, and connects this concept to issues of ethnographic representation, language revitalization, and the relative social and economic roles of Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal Canadians.
