Your Biography

Joseph Dalton is an Applications Developer with the New York Public Library's (NYPL) Office of Strategic Planning, where he works on projects such as the Digital Gallery – an online archive of over 700,000 images from the library's research collections – on APIs for exposing Digital Gallery images, and the Flickr Commons. Previously he was a Senior Web Developer with the NYPL Digital Library Program, where he worked on the information architecture for the Digital Gallery site, which launched in 2005. He is currently an adjunct faculty member in the Pratt Institute of Technology's School of Information & Library Science graduate program, where he teaches courses in digital archives, digital libraries, and digital preservation. He holds a B.A. in History from Lake Forest College, and an M.S. in Library & Information Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
