Annemiek Spronk (born 1977) graduated with honours in Philosophy of Religion at the Vrije Universiteit, Amsterdam. In 2003 she became a member of the Tropenmuseums project team that realized the exhibition All about Evil. Since 2005 she has been working as a staff member at Tropenmuseum Junior where she designs exhibitions aimed specifically at children aged 6 to 13.
Tropenmuseum Junior is part of the Royal Tropical Institute in Amsterdam, and has been making interactive exhibitions ever since it was established in 1975. The methodology used by Tropenmuseum Junior is held in high esteem internationally and the quality of the work it produces is an example to those working in the museum field. Ms. Spronk is mainly responsible for the research, collection and website of each exhibition, which usually run for two and a half years. In October 2009 Tropenmuseum Junior opened its latest exhibition: China's Qi. Qi (pronounced ''chi'') is Chinese for life force, or breath of life. In order to reach out to as many children as possible, a book (the Pearl and the Dragon) and an online game ( have been created to accompany the exhibition.
