Scholarship and Volunteer applications are open for MW2016 LA Conference

A competitive scholarship, covering up to the full conference registration and a full day of workshops, will be awarded to a select number of applicants. In special cases some support may also be offered for travel costs. Scholarships are available for professionals working in museums in the developing world or in small museums throughout the world. Students are not eligible for scholarships.  Apply here.  Deadline: December 1.

Over the course of the conference, we are relying on volunteers to perform a variety of duties that are crucial to the success of the conference.  The full registration cost for the conference will be waived.  The volunteers work between 20-25 hours during the conference.  Apply to be part of the conference volunteer team here.  Deadline: December 5.

About Hiroko Kusano

Hiroko Kusano has more than 12 years in museum and non-profit management roles with a specific focus on Fundraising, Technology and Event management. She manages the Conference, social events, and workshops for the Museums and the Web. She has worked as Special Projects Manager at the Japan Society in New York to manage the Society’s 100th Anniversary Celebration including budgeting, fundraising, planning a full year of special events including a gala, as well as all budgeting, fundraising, publications, and marketing. Prior to the Japan Society, she worked as Event Manager for the Hunger Project, an International NGO in New York City supporting local, national and international fundraising events, trips, campaign, and publications; and before that she worked at a Castillani Art Museum as the manager responsible for all events, operations, various grants, website, information. Originally from Tokyo, Japan, she resides in Los Angeles CA. She has a B.A., Art History and Business Administration from Canisius College, in Buffalo, NY.
