In its most ambitious future form, the DPLA will make the culturaland scientific record of humanity available, free of charge, to everyone in the United States andthe rest of the world. The project is currently engaged in a planning phase that will help defineneeds and specifications in several key areas: code, metadata, content, tools and services, andcommunity. Its work is guided by a Secretariat and Steering Committee, but most of the planningwill take place in the project’s workstreams, which are open to any interested member of thecommunity.<br />Our project introduction will briefly summarize the current activities of the DPLA and providean opportunity for comment and participation by members of the museum community. We’reespecially interested in hearing your ideas about how and why museums and their visitors mightbenefit from the work of the DPLA.<br /></p> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-text field-field-program-type"> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <div class="field-label-inline-first"> Type:&nbsp;</div> Other Interaction - describe in notes </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-nodereference field-field-backreference-event"> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <a href="/mw2012/sessions/project_introduction_digital_public_library_">Project Introduction: Digital Public Library of America</a> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-link field-field-progam-url"> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <div class="field-label-inline-first"> Site:&nbsp;</div> <a href="http://dp.la" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" title="Read more about [title]">http://dp.la</a> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-userreference field-field-program-authors"> <div class="field-label">Authors:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <a href="/user/schun" class="username" title="View Susan&#039;s profile.">Susan Chun</a> </div> <div class="field-item even"> <a href="/user/rlfrick" class="username" title="View Rachel&#039;s profile.">Rachel Frick</a> </div> </div> </div> <div class="og_rss_groups"></div> http://www.museumsandtheweb.com/mw2012/programs/digital_public_library_of_america_code_metad#comments MW2012 digital library public http://www.museumsandtheweb.com/crss/node/16718 Sat, 03 Mar 2012 20:33:10 +0000 Rich Cherry 16718 at http://www.museumsandtheweb.com Can Social Media Transform the Exhibition Development Process: Cooking the Exhibition - an ongoing case study http://www.museumsandtheweb.com/biblio/can_social_media_transform_exhibition_development_pro <span class="biblio-authors"><a href="/biblio/author/158">LaBar, W.</a></span> (2010).&nbsp;&nbsp;<span class="biblio-title"><a href="/biblio/can_social_media_transform_exhibition_development_pro">Can Social Media Transform the Exhibition Development Process: Cooking the Exhibition - an ongoing case study</a>. </span> (<span class="biblio_authors"><span id="2"><a href="/biblio/author/1920">Trant, Jennifer</a></span>, <span id="2"><a href="/biblio/author/1929">David Bearman</a></span></span>, Ed.).<u>Museums and the Web. </u> <span class="Z3988" title="ctx_ver=Z39.88-2004&amp;rft_val_fmt=info%3Aofi%2Ffmt%3Akev%3Amtx%3Adc&amp;rft.title=Can+Social+Media+Transform+the+Exhibition+Development+Process%3A+Cooking+the+Exhibition+-+an+ongoing+case+study&amp;rft.date=2010&amp;rft.aulast=LaBar&amp;rft.aufirst=Wayne&amp;rft.pub=Archives+%26amp%3B+Museum+Informatics&amp;rft.place=Denver%2C+Colorado%2C+USA"></span><div class="og_rss_groups"></div> http://www.museumsandtheweb.com/biblio/can_social_media_transform_exhibition_development_pro#comments MW MW2010 engagement exhibition ning process public social media http://www.museumsandtheweb.com/crss/node/12101 Wed, 14 Apr 2010 22:10:42 +0000 biblio 12101 at http://www.museumsandtheweb.com
