What new business models are becoming available for mobile products and services, and how are old ones transforming, with the increasing pervasiveness of personal mobile devices among our visitors? This workshop takes the position that, “You don’t need A mobile strategy; you need mobile to be part of THE strategy.”</p> <p>We’ll look at how to integrate mobile into the museum as distributed network, both in terms of platform and outreach strategy, and in its supporting role for the business of the museum. The workshop leader will draw on over 10 years’ experience developing mobile solutions for museum interpretation and audience engagement, and her recent work heading up mobile strategy and initiatives for the Smithsonian Institution. Participants will be invited to complete a questionnaire about their institutions’ use and goals for mobile initiatives prior to the conference, so that discussion can be focused on their real world needs and applications.</p> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-text field-field-program-type"> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <div class="field-label-inline-first"> Type:&nbsp;</div> Workshop - full or half day </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-nodereference field-field-backreference-event"> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <a href="/mw2011/workshop/mobile_strategies_business_models">Mobile Strategies &amp; Business Models - FULL</a> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-userreference field-field-program-authors"> <div class="field-label">Authors:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <a href="/user/nancyproctor" class="username" title="View Nancy&#039;s profile.">Nancy Proctor</a> </div> </div> </div> <div class="og_rss_groups"></div> http://www.museumsandtheweb.com/mw2011/programs/mobile_strategy_and_business_models_in_the_m#comments MW2011 business models business strategies mobiles strategy http://www.museumsandtheweb.com/crss/node/12981 Mon, 08 Nov 2010 16:44:41 +0000 dbear 12981 at http://www.museumsandtheweb.com Introduction http://www.museumsandtheweb.com/biblio/introduction <span class="biblio-authors"><a href="/biblio/author/1661">Bearman, D.</a>, &amp; <a href="/biblio/author/1920">Trant J.</a></span> (2005).&nbsp;&nbsp;<span class="biblio-title"><a href="/biblio/introduction">Introduction</a>. </span> <u>Museums and the Web 2005. </u> <span class="Z3988" title="ctx_ver=Z39.88-2004&amp;rft_val_fmt=info%3Aofi%2Ffmt%3Akev%3Amtx%3Adc&amp;rfr_id=info%3Asid%2Fconference.archimuse.com&amp;rft.title=Introduction&amp;rft.isbn=1-885626-31-2&amp;rft.date=2005&amp;rft.aulast=Bearman&amp;rft.aufirst=David&amp;rft.au=Trant%2C+Jennifer&amp;rft.pub=Archives+%26+Museum+Informatics&amp;rft.place=Vancouver%2C+BC+Canada+April+13-17%2C+2005&amp;rft_id=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.archimuse.com%2Fpublishing%2Fmw_2005_intro.html"></span><div class="og_rss_groups"></div> http://www.museumsandtheweb.com/biblio/introduction#comments MW MW2005 3D virtual reality impact on curator introduction location-aware services mapping mobiles museum authority personalization social web ubiquitous comoputing user contributed content user-interaction tools visualization of data intro http://www.museumsandtheweb.com/crss/node/10305 Wed, 01 Oct 2008 22:03:08 +0000 jtrant 10305 at http://www.museumsandtheweb.com
