Events

Attendees met colleagues and built their personal network at the many social events throughout Museums and the Web.

Numerous social events, including an Exhibitors' Reception, Birds-of-a-Feather Breakfast, and a closing Conference Brunch provided great opportunities to network with colleagues from around the world.

March 11 - OPENING RECEPTION
After the workshops and before the conference got underway, attendees were invited to the Cabildo, one of eight sites in the French Quarter maintained by the Louisiana State Museum, for wine and cheese. It was a perfect jumping off point for meeting others, finding a group to join for dinner and getting together with old friends.

March 12 - EXHIBITORS RECEPTION
Immediately after the Best of the Web awards ceremony, the exhibit halls opened for a sumptuous feast. For the next several hours attendees ate, drank and saw the best that vendors have to offer to museums.

March 13 - BIRDS OF A FEATHER BREAKFASTS
Attendees started the day with continental breakfast with others who shared their interests. These informal discussion groups have been the hit of prior years - and were a hit again during MW99.

March 13 - JAZZ JAM RECEPTION
Attendees enjoyed a Saturday night reception at the Historic New Orleans Collection, with a local jazz band which issued an invitation to MW99 participants to join them in a jazz jam. Attendees ate, drank and showed off their talent.

March 14 - CLOSING BRUNCH
Between sessions devoted to mini-workshop and demonstrations, we took a break for a delightful New Orleans tradition - Sunday brunch with the best of local cuisine.
