I am a second year doctoral student enrolled in the School of Library and Information Science at the University of South Carolina. I am also enrolled in the Museum Management Program at the McKissick Museum via the Graduate School at the University of South Carolina where I was awarded the first ever CHIL or Cultural Heritage Informatics Leadership fellowship under the gifting of the IMLS 21st Century Laura Bush Library Program. I am currently conducting research or have research interests in the following: examining how social media reconfigures the museum space, exploring the relationship between racial identity and museum experience, illegal trafficking of cultural heritage materials, and developing best practices for instructing art museums on how to use social media as a unique vehicle for increasing community participation and not merely as a marketing tool. I have conducted major research on at museums and social media and recently completed a 4 month internship at the Columbia Museum of Art. I served previously as the Assistant to the Director at the Avery Research Center for African American History and Culture Museum.
