Museums and the Web
An annual conference exploring the social, cultural, design, technological, economic, and organizational issues of culture, science and heritage on-line.
Dartmouth museum has no budget for web or social media work. It has no employees. Everyone is a volunteer. And the museum has been online, with a voice of its own, since July 2011. This includes Twitter and Facebook.
The web site itself is informative. It does what it says on the tin. But in social media, the museum excels, and punches well above its weight
2182 tweets and 508 followers in seven months is a pretty impressive record for a volunteer organisation
The museum uses Facebook for longer social messages, ones where more information is required

Dartmouth Museum
We are all very proud of our local museum. It is vibrant and constantly updating. It seems to be a real part of the town thanks to its social media presence. I have liked museums since I was a lad but most seem sterile and stuck in the time warp thing.
Dartmouth Museum is different,it makes a difference.
Well done to the team and good luck with the voting.
