Ice Core Records – From Volcanoes to Supernovas

This site, complete with a video podcast, helps tie together two seemingly unrelated topics: Geology and Astrophysics, and captures the viewer's interest with some amazing phenomena: supernova explosions and the Aurora Borealis, to explain a newly discovered connection between our planet and deep space.  There are many resources on this site for teachers and students, complete with a curriculum's worth of activities, and we get introduced to a fascinating woman: Gisela Drescoff, who has spent her life adventuring and investigating science at the two poles of our planet.
