Eleanor Thoe Lisney

Educated and having worked in several countries, Eleanor Thoe Lisney has a multi-cultural and multilingual background. She is fluent in English and conversant in French, Malay and Chinese. She has a Master in Literature from the Open University in Great Britain and a Master of Science in Information Studies from the University of Texas, Austin, United States. She contributed to progressions on disability at the Society for Technical Communication's 51st Annual Conference in Baltimore, 2004. Eleanor worked for the University of Massachusetts before her return to live in France in June 2004. Prior to that, she redesigned the Texas Folklife Resources Web site. She is currently researching the differences in disability culture between Europe and the United States and has an interest in Web site accessibility and usability. She is also involved in the fledgling UI Garden Forum, a bilingual (Chinese and English) user interface design on-line magazine.
