Erik received his ph.d. in performance design in 2010 from Roskilde University. His thesis is on pervasive computer games and their design. He holds an MA in general linguistics and computer science. His primary research interests are in game studies, design studies, and museum studies. In game studies his primary resechar lies within the design of pervasive game types, like alternate reality games. Within design studies he has just contributed a chapter on the Danish designer Piet Hein for a book on his life and work. In museum studies he is researching on museums and social media, a performative understanding of the lobby of museums, and museum exhibitions.
