Associate Director for Digital Resources
David McKenzie joined the Ford's Theatre staff as Digital Projects Manager in October 2013. He is now the Associate Director for Digital Resources. He has been the project manager for Remembering Lincoln, an online project to commemorate the 150th anniversary of President Lincoln's assassination by collecting the responses of people who experienced that event and its aftermath, and Ford's Theatre's presence on Google Cultural Institute. He is also responsible for educational resources on the Ford's website and taking part in a project to develop a mobile interpretive platform for student groups who visit Ford's. Originally from San Antonio, Texas, David began his public history career as a tour guide at the Alamo. He has also worked as a content developer at The Design Minds, Inc., an exhibition design firm, and as Interpretive Programs Manager for the Jewish Historical Society of Greater Washington. David holds a B.A. in History and Political Science from the University of Pittsburgh and a M.A. in Museum Studies from George Washington University. He is currently a part-time Ph.D. student in History at George Mason University, studying a combination of U.S., Latin American, and digital history.
