Head of Education
Van Gogh Museum
Marthe de Vet is Head of Education in the Van Gogh Museum since 2006. She is responsible for all interpretation and education, on site, online and through outreach. The educational strategy of the Van Gogh Museum is to use new media in combination with other educational tools or methods to reach out to audiences and inspire them with the story of Vincent van Gogh.
New media is therefore one of the main elements in the educational mix of the Van Gogh Museum. Marthe and her team have been working on innovate projects like the award winning app Touch Van Gogh, the Van Gogh Letters App, Blog Bedroom secrets, intuitive iPad kiosks to discover Van Gogh's painting technique and the award winning game Camille's Diorama.
Marthe has been working in the Royal Cabinet of Paintings Mauritshuis (The Hague) from 1999-2006, where she was responsible for adult education and new media.
She has a degree in art history at Leiden University.
