curator of education
Van Gogh Museum
As long as I can remember I loved to look at and think about art. Already as a child I was an ‘educator’, always on the look-out for ways to get things explained to my audience (mostly neighbour children and my cousins). Now as an adult that has not changed much, except my audience and educational methods. Being Curator of Education for the Van Gogh Museum means I serve a public numbering millions, on site (in the museum) and online (worldwide). I still try to find the best modes of communicating and explaining art, now also including new media, making blogs and apps (like the blog Bedroom Secrets about the restauration of Van Gogh’s masterpiece, or the app for tablet Touch Van Gogh).
