Maren Dougherty is Senior Editor at the Balboa Park Online Collaborative. She manages Balboapark.org, Balboa Park mobile apps, and online communications projects such as photo contests and collaborative Google AdWords campaigns. She blogs about Balboa Park events and exhibitions for Balboapark.org and media partners, and oversees Spanish-language social media activities. In 2011, Maren was one of two BPOC staff to live in Balboa Park for 26.2 days for “Museum Marathon,” a social media campaign to showcase everything happening at the Park and its cultural institutions. A graduate of the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University, Maren has written for various local and national publications including National Geographic Adventure, New York Magazine, Fodor's Travel Guides, and San Diego Magazine. Prior to joining BPOC in 2010, Maren was the Public Affairs Director for Survivors of Torture, International, a San Diego-based nonprofit organization serving refugees and asylum seekers.
