Abstract
As the culmination of a 30-year project of collecting media and research, this website combines traditional academic research methods with modern digital virtual-reality sense-of-place media. It presents an introduction to a selected number (50, and growing) of Irish prehistoric and early-Christian archeological sites with high-resolution VR tours, and enriches the folkloric material with audio and video interviews.
In my demonstration I will show some of the most dramatic VR tours and play a few of the brief video interviews. I will then discuss my field methods, as well as a present a introduction to the photographic techniques utilized, and the web tools deployed in the creation of the site.
