Abstract

Founded in 1941, the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego (MCASD) is the region's foremost forum devoted to the exploration and presentation of the art of our time, presenting works across all media created since 1950. With two distinct locations, one located in the coastal community of La Jolla and the other in the heart of downtown San Diego, MCASD provides an unprecedented variety of exhibition spaces and experiences for the community, showcasing an internationally recognized collection and a dynamic schedule of exhibitions and public programs.

Focusing on providing access to its permanent collection, MCASD has found that social media is a great tool to connect with a wider audience. Tour the exhibition ICONIC:MCASD (Abstraction),which emphasizes the strength of the Museum’s holdings of abstract art, and learn about the successes and challenges of connecting audiences with our online collection through social media. This tour will be lead by Education Curator, Cris Scorza.
