Session: rejections

Standards are the cornerstone of successful information interchange projects. The challenge however is in selecting the most appropriate standard(s) for the intended application. In this session, CIMI members will share their experiences building on standards and discuss methodologies for determining the efficacy of standards for an intended purpose. Three perspectives and related projects will be presented:

  1. Building on the mda SPECTRUM XML DTD for collections information interchange.
  2. Building on the Dublin Core Metadata Element Set for authoring and harvesting of scholarly resources.
  3. Building on the CIDOC Conceptual Reference Model as a vocabulary for cultural data interchange.
