Dr Petrina Foti recently completed her degree from the University of Leicester’s School of Museum Studies. Her research focuses on how the rise of digital information has effected material culture and what that means for both museums and the wider world. She is specifically interested in the curatorial history of collections that contain computer-based technology at the Smithsonian Institution, with specific attention given to the concepts of collection stewardship and contemporary collecting. She has held various museum positions, including a post from 2006 - 2011 in the Computers Collections at the National Museum of American History.
