Bill Brewster is the Supervisory Curator of Collections for the First Division Museum in Wheaton, Illinois. FDM preserves and interprets the history of the United States Army’s 1st Infantry Division. He spent sixteen years as Curator for the Wisconsin Veterans Museum in Madison. Specializing in US military material culture, Bill oversaw significant development of the Veterans Museum collection and is working to refine the scope of collections at FDM. With degrees in Museum Studies, Social Services and Horology, Brewster possesses a lifetime of unique experiences. He studied textile conservation with Jane Hutchins in the 1990s and worked in the 1980s as an interpreter at Petersburg National Battlefield. He lectures on military material culture, has written numerous articles on the subject and is currently working on a publication, Interpreting the Vietnam War, for AASLH.
