Senior Exhibit Content Developer

Are you an experienced exhibit professional looking for a new opportunity? We invite you to join us in our mission to explore, explain, and sustain life on Earth. California Academy of Sciences seeks applicants for a key opening in its Exhibit Studio.

As the content lead for new exhibits, you’ll develop original concepts for captivating exhibits and visitor experiences, research and create accessible scientific content, and produce interactives and media. You’re a gifted science communicator and collaborator with a 7- to 10-year track record of creating exhibit content that is intellectually and emotionally engaging. Position reports to the Associate Director of Exhibit Content Development.

Tamara Schwarz is Associate Director of Exhibit Content Development at California Academy of Sciences, where she manages development of interpretive strategy, exhibit content, and exhibit registration for all Academy exhibitions. Previously, she was the Senior Manager of Experience Design at Chabot Space & Science Center, where she led design and development of Chabot’s exhibitions and digital media. She has 15 years of experience developing exhibitions, multimedia, and web projects on a variety of science and historical topics. Tamara serves on the board of Cultural Connections, a Northern California consortium for museum professionals. She holds a BA in Environmental Studies from Brandeis University.
