Information Technology Manager, Museum of the Moving Image

Join the country’s only museum dedicated to the art, history, technique, and technology of the moving image in all its forms, located in Astoria, NY. The Museum is a one-of-a-kind destination for audiences of all ages and interests, from connoisseurs of classic cinema to children and families to avid gamers.

Overview

You will be managing the information technology and audiovisual components of the exhibitions, public programs, and overall daily operations of the Museum of the Moving Image.

Responsibilities

Maintain, update, and administer all Windows/Apple/Linux/Unix file servers, web servers, and workstations;
Maintain LAN and wireless networks for both public and office use;
On-site support and maintenance for Quickbooks/Altru POS systems;
Setup and management of exhibition technology;
Coordinate new employee accounts in Active Directory and Google Apps with department heads;
Maintain and upgrade educational MacBook Pros and iPads for after school programs;
Coordinate printer/copier and PBX phone system support with vendors;
Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of all types of computers, printers and related hardware and software;
Ability to work independently and to interact productively and professionally with co-workers and patrons;
Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot in a fast-paced environment;
Ability to plan, develop and coordinate all phases of information technology needed for museum functions both locally and at distant learning events;
Contribute to strategic resource utilization plans for technology acquisition–both hardware and software;
Good communication skills in dealing with colleagues, trainees, faculty and co-workers;
willingness to be flexible in contributing to departmental goals and objectives–thinking “outside the box” and participating as a team member to advance the mission of Museum of the Moving Image.
