Located in Pittsburgh, PA, Carnegie Museum of Natural History’s Marketing Department seeks a full-time web experience specialist. This position will be responsible for all aspects of the user experience related to the Carnegie Museum of Natural History’s website. Updates site on an ongoing basis and maintains consistent branding standards. Works with content managers, designers and developers as appropriate to develop web applications and ensure that the site successfully serves its audience. Monitors and reports on web statistics. Works closely with the director of marketing to implement a comprehensive mobile strategy, to include responsive websites, mobile applications, and other emerging technologies. Maintains a strong working relationship with the other Carnegie Museum website managers and with the IT department at Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree in liberal arts or computer science and experience in intranet/internet site development, implementation and maintenance or two-year degree and equivalent experience. Must have strong working knowledge of HTML and current web technologies, and of the principles and practices of good web design. Must be creative, deadline oriented, and have the ability to work independently or as a member of a team.
