Front End Web Designer/Developer, Minnesota Historical Society

The Minnesota Historical Society (MNHS) is seeking a talented Web designer and front-end developer with established Drupal knowledge and responsive design experience. This position works within a professional creative group that includes designers, developers, and project managers, and that works with colleagues across the MNHS organization, as well as external partners and participants.

MNHS is a large and multi-faceted cultural heritage organization, consisting of the Minnesota History Center in St. Paul and 25 other publicly-accessible museums and historic sites across the state. Its online presence — www.mnhs.org — includes extensive resources related to: professional and informal historical research (genealogical records, library catalog, textual articles, Solr search, etc.); visiting and in-person participation (sites, museums, library, events, etc.); and transactions (eCommerce through joining, donating, ticket purchasing, and shopping).

The emphasis of this position is on design aspects of envisioning and implementing user-experience-centered online resources as part of a cross-functional team.
