Collection Management/Digitization Intern
The Hudson River Museum seeks a DAM intern to improve digitization of the collection on its TMS database and on the web. Goals are to increase the number of collections database records having images and add interpretive content and images to the Museum’s platform on Google Arts & Culture; coordinate tasks and decisions surrounding the ingestion, annotation, cataloguing, storage, retrieval, improved SEO and distribution of digital assets. Tasks include processing and attaching existing photography to TMS; taking new photography of small collection objects; and uploading existing label content and new photographs to the Museum’s Google Arts & Culture page. Other related duties as opportune. Intern reports to the Curatorial Department Chair. Familiarity with collection databases desirable, particularly The Museum System (TMS) by Gallery Systems. Basic knowledge of Photoshop Elements required to crop and resize images for attachment to the TMS database.
Honorarium: $600; flexible schedule during the semester
