The University of Virginia Art Museum has recently produced an iPad app that showcases several sculptures from its collection. Each sculpture is presented as a "360" that the user can spin, zoom, and pan to inspect. You can see a short video about the app here: http://www.arqball.com/uvam

Each piece also includes an essay written by one of the curators that explains the significance of the work. You can download the free app from the iTunes store: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/uvam/id478915134?mt=8

We would love to hear your feedback on this type of application. We think that it brings the collection to a much larger audience including a much younger demographic.
