I would like to nominate a particular site however the Nomination form link appears not to be active despite the information displaying that it is open from Jan 2011
Hi,
One of the challenges in running an open and collaborative process is that the schedules aren't as clear or controlled as we'd like.
With consensus on the Categories for 2011 we're working on the Nomination Form now. We still hope to launch in January.
Thanks for your patience,
/jennifer

Hi Irene,
Thanks for your question.
The URL in the Best of the Web nomination should point to the site itself. The panel is interested in the results – the site as built. You can provide some contextualization in your justification for the nomination [the 'Why' field].
There are no fees to nominate a site, but each user may only nominate only ONE site.
These are community-based awards, and we encourage nominations of sites other than ones that you worked on.
Thanks.

p.s. you noted that you had a problem with the contact form. can you tell me where, so we can investigate? thanks!

Hi Jennifer,
Many thanks for your reply. I have all the information I need.
There is an error in the contactform. The subject is prefilled. But when I try to submit the question I need to fill in the subjectline, but this is not possible to adjust.
Kind regards,
Irene
Hi!
My name is Sofia Lucas and I am from Lisbon, Portugal. The institution where I work - Ciencia Viva -Portuguese National Agency for the Scientific and Technological Culture - is partner in an European project called MIC - My ideal city. The major outcome of this project is the development of a virtual exhibition where people can walk in four ideal cities:Lisbon, Jerusalem, Trento and Copenhagen. The exhibtion is already online at www.myidealcity.eu. I would like to know how can I apply this work/web for the Best of Web Awards 2011. For what I have already read the nominations for 2011 edition will be open in January 2011. So can I nominate it in January? Could you explain me the procedure, please?
All the best, Sofia.
Hi Sofia,
Yes, Best of the Web 2011 nominations will be open in January, 2011. To be eligible, a site must have been launched or significantly revised in 2010. If your exhibition launched during 2010 then it's eligible.
You will be able to nominate your site by completing an online form. To see an example of the content required, you can browse the list of nominations from 2010 and review the winning sites.
There is also more detail about the MW2010 Nomination process available. While 2011 isn't final yet, we don't anticipate major changes.
Thanks for your interest in the Best of the Web
